Kotor, Montenegro: Ms. Zorka Kordić, Montenegro’s Chief Negotiator with the European Union, visited Kotor as part of the European Day project in your city. As part of this visit, she also met with representatives of the Institute for Marine Biology of the University of Montenegro. “Kotor is the best example of how European funds could be used for implementation of the major projects” Kordić said.

Mr. Vladimir Jokić, Mayor of Kotor accompanied Ms. Kordić on the visit. He said that the municipality is continuously making efforts to take advantage of the EU funds available to Montenegro.

During the visit to the Institute for Marine Biology, guests discussed projects implemented through various international and EU funds, among them MonteAqua project and EXChAngE project.

Dr. Aleksandar Joksimović, director of the Institute, highlighted on Institute’s lead position in Montenegro in international project implementation. „Institute secured infrastructural development, research equipment purchasing, and training of young researchers through project financing,” he said.

Dr. Mirko Đurović, Head of the Adriatic Biodiversity Conservation Center „Aquarium Boka“, guided guests through the exhibition of the Aquarium Boka as the new touristic attraction of the Boka Kotorska Bay.
